The body of Marine Lieut. Warren Cremer, killed in a mid-air collision of two planes at New Port Ark., last Monday, was lying in state today at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Mack Cremer, 1409 Elm street.
The body will be removed at 1 a.m. Saturday from the home to the Northern Baptist Church, where the funeral will be held at 2 o'clock. The casket will not be opened.
Lt. Cremer is the third grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cremer, 1410 East Oak street, to become a war casualty. Capt. Kenneth Cornelious (sic) was severely wounded while serving with Gen. Patton's army. A brother, Willard Cornelius, is missing in Italy. Both are residents of Harvard, Ill.
Lt. Cremer, 22, was widely known while in high school here as a carrier for metropolitan newspapers and later as a driver for the "42" cab company.
His wife, the former Muriel Dean Moore of Thompsonville, was in a hospital in New Port at the time of Lt. Cremer's death. She will soon become a mother.
