Lois Collins, 81, long-time resident in the Kansas City area, passed away Thursday, May 4, 1995 at Delmar Gardens, Lenexa, Kansas. Graveside memorial services were held Saturday at Mount Moriah Cemetery.
Lois was born June 9, 1913 in Norcatur, Kansas, to Dr. Edgar L. and Anise M. Kane Davis. She was a member of Country Club Christian Church in Kansas City, Missouri for over 50 years. The family requested memorial contributions be made to the church.
Lois married her first husband, John Wilson Deck, in the Country Club Christian Church on June 22, 1935. They had two sons during their marriage. They had celebrated their 30th anniversary the year of John's death, 1965.
Lois married her second husband, Dr. Donald Collins, on April 6, 1968, again in the Country Club Christian Church. They were both widowed. Lois and Donald were married 13 years at the time of Donald's death in 1981.
Lois was a housewife, except during the time between John's death and her marriage to Donald when she worked at Harzfelds and Rothschilds Department Stores.
Lois was predeceased by her parents; a son John W. Deck, Jr.; twin sister Doris Milberger of La Grange, Kentucky in 1985; and sister Marian Keller Twiehaus in 1949.
She is survived by her son, granddaughter, grandson, three great-grandchildren and sister Maurene Trogdon, as well as her nephews and nieces.
