William H. Tayer, for the past 43 years a resident of Sedgwick county, died yesterday morning at 2 o'clock at his residence, 1624 Fairview avenue. He was 75 years old and for the past nine years had made his home in this city.
He and his brother, O.F. Tayer of North Volutsia avenue, both homesteaded farms near Colwich and both are members of the Garfield post, G. A. R. of Wichita. Mr. Tayer was a member of Company I, Thirty-eighth Ohio infantry. He is survived by a son, George A. Tayer, vice president of the First National bank of Newton, and by a daughter, Mrs. H. F. Rogers of Colwich.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 o'clock from the residence. The Rev. Jay W. Somerville, pastor of St. Paul's Methodist church, will have charge of the services at the residence and the members of the Garfield post will conduct the services at the grave.
