Joseph Impey Dawson and Anna Matilda (Dawson) Dawson had 9 children. This large family lived in the home that Joseph built in 1861 on Dutchman Point, where West River goes into Rhode River. Many of the family members are buried at Dutchman Point in Anne Arundel County, many are also buried in Talbot County,and other areas within the state of Maryland. Joseph and Anna are buried along with some of his brothers and other family members on the family land that was once the home of his parents, William Haddaway and Sophia Kemp Dawson. The majority of the men of the family are either waterman or shipwrights and made their living off of the Chesapeake Bay. Joseph "Impey" Dawson is my 5th - great grandfather. The family land was given out to all of the children and they pasted it down to their children. My very first home was on Cadle Creek, that was part of the family farm. I do have a chart of who is buried at Dutchman Point. In the last few years the remains of the house was found on Dutchman Point.
