World Class Professional Bodybuilder. Candy graduated summa cum laude from East Stroudsburg University in 1977 with a degree in health and physical education. It was during her college years that she became interested in bodybuilding. She participated in several amateur competitions before becoming a professional bodybuilder. After turning pro, she quickly became a fan favorite and placed second in the 1982 World Body Builder Championships and was first runnerup in the 1983 Ms. Olympia contest. She also finished in the top ten in the Ms. Olympia contest in 1981 and 1982 and was a regular covergirl on numerous bodybuilding magazines. In 1984, she had a role in a TV movie about body building called "Getting Physical". Her competitive career ended when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She later became a pioneer in drug testing for women body builders, served as a judge for the International Federation of Body Builders and was a past president of the American Federation of Women's Body Building. She was the daughter of Theodore Pitts & Helen (Srogi) McKeever.
