Michael Mund, nee. Mond. Age 76*, died on January 5, 1949 in New York City. Beloved husband, father, uncle and cousin. Member of the Feit-Auster Benevolent Association. Interred at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Queens.

A lifelong tailor by trade, Michael was born in 1872 in the village of "Dabrowki ad Lancut" (Poland) when it was still part of the Galizien territory / province of the old Austro-Hungarian Empire. He immigrated to the United States in 1887 at the age of 15. He became an American citizen in 1893*.

He lived in the Lower East Side (Manhattan) and eventually settled in Brooklyn. He married Mary Weintraub. They were married in Manhattan on February 8, 1893. They had just one child, Tessie Marion Mund, in 1910.

At the time of his passing, Michael was survived by his daughter Tessie Marion Mund of NYC, a brother Joel Mond of NYC, plus numerous Mund, Flashenberg and Stolbach family circle relatives in the NYC area.

Michael was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1937. Michael was also predeceased by his father Chaim-Yisroel Mond and mother Miriam Rosenblitt (both in Poland), brother Kalonimus Kalman Mond (in Germany) and sisters Ester, Frymet and Hinda (all in Europe).
