Larry S. Gainey, Sr., age 61, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in a local hospital. Funeral Services were 3:00 P.M. Friday, February 18 in the Chapel of Belk Funeral Home with interment in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Born June 26, 1949 in Darlington County he is the son of Betty and Heyward Gainey. Larry enjoyed carpentry, loved his dogs and was always willing to help others. He was employed by Nucor Steel.
Surviving are his daughter, Amy (Troy) Blanks of Lexington, a son, Larry S. Gainey, Jr. of Darlington, three grandchildren: Darien Nicole Gainey, Ashley Blankenship, Sierra Gainey; and a brother, Heyward Gainey, Jr.
Preceded in death by his brother, James Paul Gainey
