Lisa Scalero, 48, of San Clemente, CA. died peacefully with her family at her side, on Tuesday, June 5, 2012. She lost her battle against cancer, after a long, courageous fight.

Lisa was born in Rome, NY, on August 15, 1963 to Ernest and Susan Schramp Scalero. Besides her parents, she leaves her daughter, Gabrielle Morales of Norwalk, CA; long-time companion, Phillip Wood of San Clemente; a brother, Anthony Scalero of Lake Forest, CA; a sister, Anne Marie Scalero, Queen Creek, AZ; and a brother Christopher, of Scotsdale, AZ. She is also survived by her nieces, Aurora and Isabella, and nephews, Tristan and Santino.

She is a graduate of Rome Free Academy.

Lisa loved being a mother, and Gabrielle was her heart. She was a talented, self-taught and prolific artist. Lisa was caring, inspiring, loved rainbows and sunflowers, jewelry and, most of all, her family. Her favorite quote is "We come to love, not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly." Lisa touched many lives with her courage and inspiration. She will be greatly miss by all who were blessed to know her.

*** I knew Lisa since 6th grade. Although she moved away after graduation, we were able to get in touch later in life. She was always so positive and loving throughout her illness.
