Birth name Catherine Burns, she was born to William Burns and Jane Cameron Daly in Hamilton, Scotland on 22 August 1918.

Ten sisters and brothers: Mary Burns Crawford, Annie Burns Connelly, Jean Burns McKinley, Harold Burns, Susan Burns Lawson, James Burns, Elizabeth Burns McClusky, Joanne Burns Chapman, John Burns, and Henry Burns.

She immigrated to the U.S. 24 Oct 1925, at age 7 with her Aunt Kathleen (Burns) Raitt and Harold Raitt. She was adopted by Harold and Kathleen Burns Raitt and given the name Kathleen Raitt. They arrived from Liverpool, England on the S.S. Cameronia.

On census 7 Apr 1930 at 69 Bradley St, Buffalo, NY, age 12.

Prior to her marriage in July 1937, she lived at 349 Dewitt in Buffalo. Following the marriage she lived at 90 Manhart.

Her first husband was George F Stockman, Jr. He died 12 Jan 1970. Children of this marriage were: Patricia Ann, born 1938; and twins George and Chips, born 1940.

Listed in Erie, PA City Directory for 1943 as a waitress at Reinhardt's Diner. She worked there as a waitress until her death in 1972.

Her second husband was John J. (Johnny) Jovan. Her 1972 calendar showed her undying love for him. She wrote "My Johnny died Dec. 6th 1962-age 50 years old. God Bless Him and Rest His Soul. Thursday night about 10:30 pm."

Her third marriage on 30 Sep 1966 to Howard W. 'Wes' Bundy, who died 5 Mar 1971 in Erie, PA.

She became a naturalized U.S. Citizen on 4 Jun 1968. Certificate #9153173. She had been told to become a U.S. citizen or she would be deported back to Scotland. She traveled 300 miles one way from Erie to Harrisburg to take the citizenship test and pledge of allegiance. Her birth mother, still living in Scotland, was saddened to hear of her becoming a U.S. citizen because she knew that meant she would never see her again.
