Luis David Andino, 18 of New Britain died tragically on Saturday, (May 27, 2006). Luis was born on February 29, 1988 in Hartford, and was a student of New Britain High School. Luis was the only child who leaves behind his loving mother Omaira Medina and his caring step-father Hector Torres. He also left many family and friends who cherished him and will deeply miss his presence. In addition to his parents, Luis is survived by his grandmothers Carmen Torres and Paula Torres; his aunts Marisol Jimenez, Luz and Joy Figueroa, Glorimar Hickman and Carmen Maysonet; his uncles Jose Cruz, Jose Torres, Pedro Rodriguez and Mark Hickman; he leaves many cousins behind some of them whom are Latoya Torres which he considered a sister, a friend and his confidant, Yazmin Andino, Krystal, Cynthia, and Ciera Morales, Josephine Rivera, Joandra Ortiz, Derrick Bonilla, Kayla and Mark Hickman, Nicole, Luis, Ivanna, and Abdiel Moralez, Jose, Yamil, Steven and Kashla Cruz. Luis was taken away from us along with his closest friends, Gene Galarza, Brandon Shannon, Edmundo Carrasquillo and Mary Neliz Jimenez. The funeral will be Thursday, June 1, 9:15 a.m. from The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. St. Peter's Church, 160 Main Street, Hartford, burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours will be TODAY, 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Berlin police found a Honda split in half, its rear section fully in flames. Maryneliz Jimenez and her four passengers — Gene Galarza, 19, Edmundo Carrasquillo, 21, Luis Andino, 18, and Brandon Shannon, 18 — were killed.
