Edna "Mayme" Bowser Rinehuls, 70, a resident of the Potter County community of Austin, died Saturday [10 Aug 1985] at Hamot Medical Center [Erie, Pennsylvania] after a short illness. She was born in the Cameron County of community of Driftwood on Nov. 23, 1914, daughter of the late Edgar H. and Edna May [Shaffer] Hickoff. She was a life member of the Cameron County Historical Society and had been active in community affairs all her life. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Merle L. Bowser [son of William A. and Dessie Geiger Bowser] on Sep. 3, 1981; they were married Aug 19, 1939 [in Lock Haven]. Also preceding her in death was a brother, William G. Hickoff. Survivors include her husband of one year, Newell F. Rinehuls, whom she married July 28, 1984; two sons, Dr. Barry L. Bowser of Houston, Texas, and William E. Bowser of Chillicothe, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Gerard P. (Susan) Mueller of Girard; two brothers, Homer R. Hickoff of North Syracuse, NY, and Edgar D. Hickoff of Emporium; and six grandchildren. Friends may attend a memorial service at First Methodist Church of Emporium on Friday 1 p.m. The Rev. Dean Hughes will officiate.
