Obituary for Lucina Amy Magers:
Lucina Amy Magers died at the home of her daughter, Ella Roberts in Centralia, Kansas, on Thursday, Jan. 29, at the age of 78 years, 2 mo's and 7 days.
Lucina Magers was the second of ten children born to Dawson and Margaret Daugherty of Holton, Kansas.
On Oct. 12, 1894 she was united in marriage to Isaac Magers at Hebron, Nebr. To this union was born 12 children, eleven of whom are living; six daughters, Verna and Dora Stringos of Hutchinson, Kans.; Jesse Marshall, Emmett, Kans.; Ella Roberts, Centralia, Kansas; Irene McClintock, Holton, Kansas; Edna Aikens, Kent, Wash.; and 5 sons, Roy Magers of Mayetta, Kans.; Tom of Topeka, Kans.; Henry of Payette, Idaho; Francis of Moses Lake, Wash.; and Albert of Montana.
Mrs. Magers was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 31, 1944 and by her son Carl on June 25, 1939. Besides immediate members of her family one sister, Mrs. Margaret Davis of Solomon, Kansas, 48 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren.
The funeral was held at the McAsey Mortuary on Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2 o'clock. Rev. Henderson of Hutchinson Kans. had charge of the services. Burial was in the Holton Cemetery beside her husband and son.
Active pall bearers were grandsons, Larry Marshall of Emmett, Edward Magers of Topeka, and Keith Magers of Junction City, and nephews, Dawson and Galen McClain of Holton, and Gary Wilson of Holton.
