Elton Janrie "E.J." Seno Johnston, 18, of Liberty Hill, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010, as a result of injuries suffered in a car wreck that occurred March 13, 2010.

E.J. was born November 10, 1991, in Round Rock, TX to Jon and Marites "Tess" Johnston of Liberty Hill, TX. He lived in Liberty Hill where he completed almost 12 years of school. He was scheduled to graduate from Liberty Hill High School in May. E.J. enlisted in the US Army National Guard at age 17 with a dream to serve his country as a combat medic and later as a doctor. He trained one weekend per month at Camp Mabry and served at the rank of E3. He was looking forward to studying Biochemistry in the Fall of 2010 at the University of Texas at San Antonio where he had already been accepted.

As a senior at LHHS, E.J. was a member of the National Junior Honor Society, was on the Cross-Country Track Team, Tennis Team, and Track and Field Team. He was also active in UIL academic competitions earning numerous medals of achievement in Science and Maps & Graphs contests throughout his four years of high school. He played tuba in the high school band from 2005-2006, and earned awards throughout his high school career for high achievement in history and geography classes. He was also a recipient of the President's Education Award.

He is survived by his loving parents, Jon and Marites "Tess" Johnston; his younger brother, Jonathan Seno Johnston, 16; and his maternal grandmother, Genara Seno, all of Liberty Hill. Also, a step brother, Juan Miguel Anais Johnston of North Carolina; a step sister, Janina Johnston, and a niece, Ysabella Johnston, both of San Antonio. E.J. is also survived by a large and loving family in the United States and the Philippines, including his aunts, Minerva Bascon of the Phillipines; Marielyn Gonzaga of Liberty Hill; Karen Johnston of Tennessee; Jinky Nuevo of Cedar Park; Sally Puckett of Austin; and Rizalie Seno of Liberty Hill. Surviving uncles are Arthur Johnston of South Carolina; Carl Johnston of Tennessee; Gil Nuevo of Cedar Park; Gilbert Seno, Manolo Seno, Mortemir Bascon of the Phillipines; and Melchor Seno of Liberty Hill. Surviving cousins include Ethan Ray Albarando, Andrie Bascon, Tashi Bascon, Nico Bascon, Trisha Gonzaga, Lea Gonzaga, Albert Klienne Seno, Jillianne Nuevo, Angelie Kate Seno, Ashley Nicole Seno, Christian James Seno, Mark Seno, Shienna Seno, and Simon Seno.

E.J. is also survived by his extended Liberty Hill High School family where he was adored by classmates and teachers alike; and his girlfriend of 18 months, Mary Stark, with whom he had made plans for the future. He regularly attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cedar Park, TX where he was baptized, received First Communion and was Confirmed. E.J. was an organ donor and his heart survived the car crash to provide life to another.
