Mrs. Durmon Is Observing 89th Birthday
Mrs. M. E. Durmon, one of Pulaski's oldest citizens, is celebrating her 89th birthday today, with a family dinner at the home of her brother, C.A. Hall, near Pulaski.
Mrs. Durmon, who has been confined to her room at the home of her son, R. E. Kirkner, Pulaski, for the past three months, is just able to be out. Up to this time she has enjoyed good health.
Mrs. Durmon keeps up with the times, is still able to piece quilts, and make tatting without the aid of glasses, having received her second eyesight. She spends much of her time reading, which is also done without glasses.
The past winter she sojourned in Miami, Fla., and enjoyed the resorts and beaches immensely.
Mrs. Durmon has been married three times, her last husband passing away three years ago. She is the mother of four children, Mrs. L. C. Albert, J. D. Durmon, R. E. Kirkner, all of Pulaski, and A. S. Hebden, of Alliance, Ohio.
