Aged Woman Laid to Rest
Mrs. Louise Adelaide Hall, wife of D. W. Hall, was born in Hillsville, Virginia, October 15, 1851 and departed this life April 4, 1926, at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 20 days. She was the daughter of the late Samuel S. and Katharine M. Covey. She is survived by her husband and the following children: W. G. Hall of Richmond, Va.; E. P. Hall of Bluefield, W. Va.; Mrs. J. D. Sanders and Mrs. Mae Vandegrift, both of Pulaski; one son Fred E. Hall, having preceded his mother to the grave. One brother, George B. Covey, of Wytheville also survives.
Mrs. Hall united with the Methodist Church several years ago. She had been an invalid and confined to her home for several years but bore her sufferings without a murmur. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by a host of friends and relatives.
The funeral was conducted from her late home by Rev. D. P. Hurley of the Methodist Church assisted by Rev. C. J. Rice of the Lutheran Church. Her body was laid to rest in the Oakwood Cemetery. The pall bearers were: M. Thompson, C. H. Holston, C. N. Holston, W. R. Shelor, H. E. Bolton and Mr. Gregory.
The high esteem in which the deceased was held was expressed by the large crowd in attendance and the beautiful floral offerings. Those attending the funeral from out-of-town were: Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Hall and Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hall of Bluefield; George B. Covey of Wytheville; Mrs. Crockett Durmon and Mrs. Laura Albert of Dublin. [Published in The Southwest Times 07 Apr 1926]
