Mrs. Elizabeth Bracey
On Thursday of last week occured the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Bracey at 11:30 a .m., after a long and palntul illness of several months duration. Mrs. Bracy was born at Chateaugay Lake on April, 1845. A woman of 82 remarkable years. In her 15th year, Mrs. Bracey was united in marriage to Lester Flnch. Four chlldren were born of this union, two or which are now living, Herbert Finch, of Bridgeport, Conn., and John Finch, of Chateaugay Lake.
Mrs. Bracey resided in her early days at what is known as the Tucker Mills, removing there from to what has been her home for the remainder or her life at Chateaugay Lake,
for a period of about 65 years. After the death of Mr. Finch, Mrs. Bracey was united In marriage to Asher Bracey, of Chateaugay Lake. Four children were born of this later union. Mrs. Flora White, of Greenfield, Mass., George and Ernest Bracey, of Chateaugay Lake, and Mrs. Edmund Sweet, of Mooers Forks, all survive. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Nellie Collier, of New York city, twenty-one grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The deceased was a most worthy woman and a wonderful mother, following the Methodist faith all her life. Her home was always open for her friends and neighbors and many a total stranger was entertained by her generous hospitality. She has gone to her blessed rest with the benediction and prayers of everyone in her vicinity.
