Robert Allison, 78
Robert P. Allison, 78, of Millersburg, died Saturday evening, July 8, 2006, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg, following a short illness. He was born April 19, 1928, in Millersburg to Payne and Gladys (Wachtel) Allison and married Marilyn White on April 1, 1949. She survives. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne. He was a plumber and pipe fitter, retiring from Schmid Plumbing in Wooster. He was a member of Millersburg First Christian Church. He was also a member of the Millersburg American Legion and Killbuck Veterans of Foreign Wars, Millersburg Spartan Lodge F&AM, and the Canton Scottish Rite. He was an avid area sports fan and enjoyed golfing. Surviving in addition to his wife are three children and their spouses, Kenneth and Robin Allison of Houston, Texas, Scott and Allyson Allison of Loudonville and Tim and Deb Allison of Millersburg; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Hitchcock of Millersburg. A brother, Gary Allison, died previously. Graveside services were planned today (Thursday) at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Gerald Craycraft and Trevor Littleton officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Millersburg American Legion and Killbuck Veterans of Foreign Wars. Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, is handling the arrangements. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Millersburg First Christian Church or Holmes County Hospice.
