Alexander Durler born Jun 8, 1842 in Ohio. Per Death Certificate, son of Harvey Durler. He married Catharine Asire Babcock February 23, 1871 in Coshocton County Ohio. Per her death certificate, she was the daughter of Daniel Babcock and Mary Elliott (Note: we believe this should be Eleazar Babcock and Elizabeth Elliott...tracking census records 1850-1860-1870). She died August 12, 1927. They had 4 known children:

Pearl V Durler Schonauer 1871-1965
Elizabeth R "Lizzie" Durler Ross Harford 1873-?
Harvey Alverado Durler 1880-1941
Alma E Durler 1884-1965

Alexander Durler served as a private in the Civil from April-Aug 1861 Company G 16th OVI, May-Sep 1864 Company I 166th OVI, and Feb-Sept 1865 Company A 196th OVI; Civil War Pension claim made 7/23/1879 Application 299663 Certificate 789852. (See contribution under "Notes and Flowers" by Michael Wood, FAG Volunteer #47446530).

Note: Christian DURLAR (Durler) has a military stone in the Soldier's Lot Section A Lot 12. We know there is a relationship between Christian and Alexander, but not exactly sure what it is.

Further Information about this family would be very much appreciated.

A special thanks to Marty Grice from the Village of Millersburg who not only found the burial location, but went out to the cemetery to get the photo's of the gravestones of the DURLER Family buried at Oak Hill Cemetery.
