Survivors include his mother of Clay City; one brother Clyde of Metroplis; and a sister Mrs. Larry (Gayle) Brookshire of Rosebud.
Services were held at Cardascio Funeral Home with burial in the Clay City Cemetery.
(A recreation area at Carlyle Lake was named after Wayne. The ceremony was conducted by Lt. Col. John S. Wilkes III of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Army named the campground site in honor of Wayne who served as a career employee for the Corps for eleven years until his untimely death.)
