Arkell Murbarger, 67, Clay City, died at 3:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, in Clay County Hospital in Flora.

Services will be in the Clay City United Methodist Church with Bro. Joe Thorn and Rev. Norman Sloan presiding. Visitation will be in the Hosselton-Bookhout-Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City. Burial will be in Clay City Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Clay County Heart Association.

Mr. Murbarger was born March 22, 1918, in Clay County, the son of David and Bertha (Patridge) Murbarger. He married Verna Shelton March 27, 1937, in Mt. Vernon and she survives.

He was a retired bus driver and a service station attendant.

He was a member of the Clay City United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include two sons, Dale, Louisville; Jerry, Oreana; a foster daughter, Mrs. Alvis (Patricia Lynn) Wilson, Laneville, Texas; six brothers, Leo, Carroll, Eath, all of Clay City; Rolla, Bethalto; Shelby, Effingham; Neal, Ingraham; two sisters, Mrs. Cecil Staser, and Mrs. Charles (Maxine) Tibbs, both of Clay City; four grandchildren; and two foster grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, and his parents.
