"Andy Doc" as he was nicknamed graduated from Ohio Wesleyan Delaware, OH in 1925 then in 1929 from Ohio State Univ. in Columbus, OH with his medical degree. His medical practice as a G.P. was in the Greentown area. He was also an active 32 degree mason. The Stark County Bicentennial Story vol 1 on page 61 tells this story: In 1956 Dr. Anderson administered the Salk polio vaccine to the 200 students of the Greentown school. This was the first mass public health inoculation to take place in Stark County. Anderson, who was the school physician, tended to the children during his entire practice without charge. Much of the progress of Greentown can be attributed to Anderson's initiative, leadership and his unselfish service to his fellow man. The beautiful park building was a gift to the community from Doctor Anderson.
