James Pettyjohn, age 85, a citizen of Clay City for 70 years, died last week at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bessie Gill, in Clay City.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Chester Lee of Olney, Mrs. Gill of Clay City and Miss Mary Pettyjohn of Rinard. He was the oldest living member of the Clay City Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church in Clay City and burial was in the Clay City cemetery.
