He was born in Gersdorf; Germany March 15, 1907; to Richard and Helen (BreWitz) Pilz. He married Vera Maude Serugham. He was a retired maintenance, engineer at the Nugent Dairy in Vincennes.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Steven (Rosalie) Carr, Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. Frank (Sue Ellen) Hatton, Monroe City, In., and sjx grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
