It was recently discovered that a group of individuals had memorials in 2 different cemeteries. This is due to the fact that these 16 individuals are listed in 2 different books. One listing is for Smith Cemetery, Wayne County, Illinois and the other is for Clay City Cemetery, Clay County, Illinois.

It is believed that the group is actually buried in Smith Cemetery due to the photographs of tombstones which appear there. This is the memorial for Mary Rainey. Mary's tombstone is very difficult to read and there is a slight difference in interpretation of the stone between the two books.

This memorial is remaining in Clay City to avoid future confusion or duplication if someone is relying on the books for burial information.
