Rosa's sister, Mary Nancy (Grubbs) Schellinger wrote a 9 page family history. This is what she said about Rosa (the entire story is available on ancestry.com) PUNCTUATION AND MISSPELLINGS PRESERVED:

"I was born on a farm, (7) seven miles out of Jeff. in a small community called "Prospect." My parents were Robert Lee Grubbs and Ellen Selma Lindsay Grubbs. I was the youngest of seven (7) children. there were (4) four girls and 3 three boys. Rosa Lee was the oldest Ollie Mira was the second, Thompson Paul was the oldest of the boys then with him Henry, next came Roxie Mae. Next was Robert Edmond called Bob, for short, then Me, Mary Nancy Grubbs Schellinger. The church was named Prospect Baptist, where we all attended..."
"Guells Ill tell about my sister Ollie she was the first one to marray and leave home. She was nineteen. She married Robert (Bob) Fant. They had a Home Wedding. her dress was a pretty blue, Rosa made it. She was a good semstress as she did the family sewing. Bob had a house in Cass Co. and they moved there. Now Rosa was two (2) yrs older but she didn't fine anyone to suit her, as she was a proud lady. She had taken piano lessons and was even teaching piano. But finally found the one boy for her. Roger Hellums. he lived in Cass Co, also, and would ride his horse to see Rosa, and I would get on the gate post and wait for him on Sun. Eve. He wuld put me on his sholder and carried me in the house. Roger was a good violonst, and he had a brother Winfield that picked a getar. The two brothers would come to the house and with Rosa seconding on the organ they could make real music. There were always a house full of young people to come here them, sometime they wuld have a pound supper, all the boys would bring a pound of somethign good to eat, the table would be full. I can remember those time so vivadly. Id finally get sleepy and go get on one ofthe beds in Mamas room. and that was the best sleep I can remember."

"Thoes were the good days for me. No worrys we did have a happy child hood. Im getting of the subject. Roger had a twin sister. Ond Sunday she was at our house as I said I had long curly hair. She asked me how often did I comb my hair. And I told her once week and that was on Sunday. Well believe it I almost got a whipping from Rosa. That Chrismas Rosa and Rodger got married at our house. Rose wore white but she wouldnt make her own dress, she had Mrs. John Howard to make it. We had this long hall in our house and that was where she and Ollie both were married. Roxie was a good organist also, as Rosa taught er. I was to small to take lessons. My Dad also was a good organist. He also played an accordian and a juice harp. Now me I took after my mom. She didn't play anything, and I never heard her sing. She would hum sometimes. Rosa played the organ later on at the church, and she [mother] had a good Alto vice. Rosa did also."

The story was only brought up to date to 1988 and was originally shared on Ancestry.com by Ancestry user hstrsr on 21 Oct 2014. I am a DNA match with "WS" in hstrsr's tree and I am still trying to figure out how we are related. Just thought I would pass this along for anyone interested. Finding those personalized family history is like uncovering buried treasure, it is precious and should be treated as such. Respectfully, Katharyne Jane (Silva) Belew, just a friendly genealogist passing through :)
