Services for Mary Jane "Jackie" Christina Bossy Grubbs, 70, of Jefferson, will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at the Capt. Wm. Perry Chapel of Haggard Funeral Home with D. W. McLendon officiating. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Grubbs died peacefully in her home on Friday, September 16, 2011. She was born to Hilda Kathryn Gemmell Bossy and Joseph Bossy on January 6, 1941 in Seychelles Islands, British Colony. She was the tenth of eleven children and was brought up in the Catholic faith. She met her husband, Jerry Grubbs, in England while working as a nurse and they were married in 1968. After traveling all over the world with him his entire oil field career, Jackie and Jerry settled down in Jefferson, Texas. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by many.
Survivors include her children, John and Amie Grubbs of Jefferson, James Grubbs and fiancé Carri Nolan of Jefferson and Jerianne and Jay Alexander of Round Rock; Grandchildren, Michael James Grubbs, Cameron John Grubbs, Parker Wayne Grubbs, Jacie Christina Alexander, Jacob Charles Alexander, Trey Scott Bowen and Lane Scott Bowen; Two sisters, Jessie Payet of Seychelles Islands and Laure McCarley of California; Three brothers, Leslie Gemmell, Nigel Gemmell and Claude Gemmell all residing in Australia; numerous nieces and nephews; Special friend, Sheryl Bowen; and Jackie's constant companion, Coco Ann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Robert Grubbs; her parents, Hilda Kathryn Gemmell Bossy and Joseph Bossy; her brothers, John Bossy, Harold Bossy, James Gemmell; and sisters, Ruth Rassoul and Doris Nagoen.
