ANN SHAFFER, 77 of Effingham, IL passed away 10:40 AM Thursday, January 8, 2009 as a result of an auto accident on Rt. 33 east of Effingham.

Ann was born March 1, 1931 at Cisne, IL to Victor K. and Evelyn (Clutter) Behymer. She married Harold Lee Shaffer on December 10, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1983.

She was a Secretary and Dispatcher for Shaffer Trucking and a homemaker. She worked for several years as a secretary at the Clay City Unit 10 School District. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Effingham, IL; Red, White and Blue Quilters of Effingham, IL; and a past member of FISH Organization of Effingham, IL.

Ann is survived by one daughter Susanne Lindeman; two sisters, Louise Moseley; Jane Hancock; one brother-in-law Dick Shaffer. Also surviving are five grandchildren Shay ; Stephanie Williams ;Matt Lindeman; Marty Lindeman; and Mark Lindeman; five great grandchildren Shelby, Shaylee, Tyler, Nicholas, and Molly.

Preceding her in death were one son Steve, one sister, her husband, Harold, and her parents.

Funeral services for Ann Shaffer were at Hosselton Funeral Home at Cisne, IL.

Burial was at Clay City Cemetery, Clay City, IL.

Memorials may be made to FISH Organization of Effingham and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
