Randy Lynn Pettway, 59 of Vivian, LA passed away January 2, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian, LA officiated by Rev. Linda Shepherd. Burial will follow at Core Cemetery in Gray, TX. There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, January 5th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Randy was born July 28, 1953 in Shreveport to Oscar and Maxine Pettway and lived all of his life in the North Caddo Parish area. He worked as a machinist. He was a Baptist by faith. He was an outdoorsman; he loved to fish and especially duck hunt. He was raised on Caddo Lake. He and his family owned and operated a store in Gray Texas during the mid-80's called Cedar Station. He loved to watch the Show Jeopardy and could answer most of the questions. He had a big heart; he loved his family, especially his grandson Jeremiah. He loved being a Pawpaw. Randy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rebecca Pettway of Vivian, his daughter, Jackie Lynn Pettway and fiancé Ray Garcia of Shreveport, his grandson, Jeremiah Ray Pettway, his sister, Linda Ashworth of Vivian, his nephews, Shane Ashworth, Lance, Hunter and Benjamin Feibel, his niece Sheryl Wynn and husband Kenny, 2 great nieces, 3 great nephews, 5 great-great nephews and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Dee Johnson, Scott Wall, Harry Cogley, Ray Garcia, Tim Olgetree, and Tod Ogletree. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Feibel and Ray Thrower.
The family would like to thank the transplant team at Willis Knighton North, Dr. McMillan, Dr. Zibari and all the staff.
