Grady worked at a number of places and several kinds of work; carpenter, millwright, timber buying, oil field, saw mill, farming, plumbing. His longest employment in one place was Civil Service millright at Carswell Air Force Field in Fort Worth. Falling machinery seriously injured his hip and back in 1956. The government retire him with full salary. He enjoyed fishing, visiting, had a small farm of 5 acres with a few chickens, hogs, cows and a good garden.
After his first wife"Rena " died he married Nita McMichael in 1969
