Born Nov. 16, 1938, in Holmesville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Patterson and Louella Glasgo Patterson. Betty, a graduate of Millersburg High School, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Naples and also attended the Zoar United Church of Christ.
A lifelong music lover, she sang in various church choirs for many years, was an avid reader and renowned baker, and greatly enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow. Betty volunteered her time for many organizations including Hospice of Tuscarawas County and Naples.
She is survived by her mother, Louella Patterson; a brother, The Right Rev. Donis Patterson; a sister, Ann Waltman; her husband, Thomas, with whom she would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary April 6; children, Mike (Elizabeth), Mark (Kathy), Mary Ann (John) Adams, and Patrick (Jennifer); and grandchildren, Elissa, Alexandra, Alina, Ana, Justin, Jessica, Jacob, Jennifer, Tara, Kristin, Christian and Mackenzie.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Patterson, an infant brother, Thomas Patterson and a grandson, Jordan Lauber. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Millersburg, with the Rev. Dr. Bob Hoover and the Rev. Eldon Trubee officiating. Private burial service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
