JoLene Marie Fredrick, 77, of Grand Island went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Leo’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Donald Buhrman will officiate. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Fredrick was born Aug. 13, 1937, at Elba to Leo and Dores (Gregersen) Ewers.

Those left to cherish her memory include four children and their spouses, Steven and Sherrie Fredrick, Jeffrey and Amy Fredrick, and Robert Fredrick and Terry Schmailzl, all of Lincoln and Jill and Don Randolph of Grand Island; a very special friend, Lowell Goodman of Grand Island; and a sister, Rosalee Suntych of Boleus.

Also surviving are a sister-in-law and her husband, Annie and Bob Chavis of North Platte; 14 grandchildren, Beth, Michael, Brian, Mac, Mandi, Matthew, Alyssa, Ryan, Sierra, Coltin, Calvin, Ava, Kash and Miles; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellard, in 1981; her parents; a sister and brother-in-law, Sunny and Larry Kontor; a brother-in-law, Lavern Suntych; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Lahners.

JoLene grew up and received her education in Elba, graduating with the Class of 1955. She was united in marriage to Ellard Robert Fredrick on June 14, 1955, in Elba.

Always the business woman, JoLene and Ellard owned several businesses together. She was a motel owner/operator most of her life. JoLene was also a licensed Realtor with Daly Realty.

She was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church and the Platt Duetsche, and a past-member of Elks Club and Eagles. Fun loving and full of life, JoLene loved to dance and never missed a day at Grand Generation Center. She enjoyed cards and the occasional trip to the casino. One could say JoLene was in the “boat” business.
