OBIT:
From the St. Paul Republican, February 2, 1905, page 8, transcribed by Linda Berney, from the Elba news column:

Another Pioneer Passes Away -

Died, at his home in this city on Sunday, January 29, Martin Deleski. The deceased was born in Poland November 10, 1829 and was 76 years 2 months and 18 days old at the time of his death. He was married in Poland to Miss Mary Smaz in 1856, and with his family he emigrated to this country in 1869, settling at Bresan, Ohio, where he remained until 1879, when he came to Nebraska, settling in Howard county, where he has resided ever since.

He was the father of eleven children, eight of whom with his aged wife survive him. The deceased was an exceptionally good, honest, industrious man, and everyone who knew him was his friend.

His remains were laid to rest Tuesday afternoon, the funeral services being held from the Catholic church, of which he was a devout member and interment made in the cemetery north of town.

The surviving children are Mrs. J. W. Panowicz, Mrs. Ignatz Zintek and Mrs. Frank Piontowski, and John, Joseph, Anton, Ignatz and William Deleski. May he rest in peace.
