Ignatz Delecki, formerly a resident in this vicinity, but for the past two years a resident of Valley County, died Monday at Norfolk. According to our information, he was the victim of an accident late last fall from which he never fully recovered. While unloading hay from his wagon into the barn loft by means of a hay fork, the rope to which the fork was attached broke when the fork with his load of hay was several feet above his head. In its descent the hay struck Ignatz on the head with considerable force and rendered him unconscious. While he regained consciousness and partially recovered, he never fully recovered and was somewhat irrational at times. About six weeks ago, he was taken to Omaha for treatment, and the physician, after making a thorough examination, pronounced him of unsound mind, probably due to an injury of the skull. He was then taken to Norfolk at which place he died Monday. The remains will reach here today (Thursday) and interment made in the Catholic cemetery just north of town. The bereaved widow and little fatherless children came down from Ord Wednesday. The stricken family has many friends in this vicinity who extend profound sympathy. Source: unknown.
