Leland "Lee" R. Berry, 82 of Streator passed away Thursday (Dec. 6th) at his home.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 - 5PM at the Winterrowd Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Shane and Chad Berry, Joshua Kelly, Kurtis Decker, Craig Jett and Matt Spellious.
Lee was born December 7, 1929 in Chester, IL to Angus and Florence (Rebbe) Berry.
He married Arleen Ann Wahl on August 5, 1953. She passed away September 7, 2009.
Surviving is son, Jerome (Mary Ann) Berry of Streator, daughter, Rebecca (Charles) Kelly of Streator, 6 grandchildren, Dawn (Craig) Jett of Shorewood, Joshua (Erika) Kelly of Bolingbrook, Shane (Jill) Berry of Streator, Chad (Melinda) Berry of Streator, Amber (Kurtis) Decker of Streator and Sarah Berry of Streator, 7 great-grandchildren, Connor and Mason Decker, Tucker and Nathan Berry, Alivia Berry, Duke Jett and Annabelle Kelly, sisters Norma Gunn of McHenry and Doris Humphrey of Huntington Beach, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, half brothers William and James Berry and sister Kathleen Myers.
He served in the US Marines from March of 1951 till March of 1954, and retired from Owens Illinois Glass as an electrician after 45 years.
He joined the Reading Township Volunteer Fire Department in 1954 serving for 58yrs as a firefighter, and served as fire chief for nearly 30 years.
Lee was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and attended Chester Grade School and graduated Chester High School.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of the donors' choice.
