Died: Fri., Feb. 21, 2014

STREATOR- John A. Burash 87 of Streator, died Friday afternoon (Feb. 21, 2014) at St. Mary's Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator with Monsignor Philip Halfacre officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator, with a prayer service recited at 4:00 PM. Burial with full military rites conducted by members of American Legion Post # 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 1492 will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery.

Mr. Burash was born Mar. 12, 1926 in Streator the son of John and Anna (Hrabek) Burash. He married Edith Fritts, Jan 22, 1947 at St. Stephen's Church. She survives.

John had been employed at Knoedler Manufacturing, Streator, designing and testing prototype equipment. He was a member of former St. Stephen's Church, and currently a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy in the Philippines. John attended St. Stephen's grade school and Streator public schools.

He is survived by one daughter, Dianna D'Abrosca, Coventry, RI, two sons, Bob (Sandra) Burash, Severn MD, and Larry Burash, Streator, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters, Mary Ann (William) Gibbons, Streator and Dorothy (Tom) Wright, Rockford and one brother, Bob Burash, Streator.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Paul Burash, one sister Margaret Shirisky and two brothers, Andrew "Smiley" Burash and Edward Burash.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
