Jane Breen, 86, of 401 Ninth Street, Lacon, died at 10 p.m. July 22,2002, in St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Lacon, IL.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lacon, Il, with the Revs. John Verrier and Harold Schmitt officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery following the services.
There will be no visitation. Lenz Memorial Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Breen was born February 23, 1916, in Rochester, NY to Timothy and Mary (Curry) McHenry. She married Donald Breen on July 20, 1945, in St. James Cathedral, London, England.
She served with the Red Cross in London during World War II.
She graduated from Pottstown, NY Teachers College and taught in Hudson Falls, NY, and taught English at Lacon-Sparland schools from 1946 until retiring in 1979. She and her husband then moved to Palm Beach, FL.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Survivors include her husband, Donald of Lacon; one son, David (Beth) Breen of Auburn, Washington; two grandchildren; one half-brother, John McHenry; one half-sister, Patricia McHenry; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Memorials may be directed to Methodist Hospice of St. Joseph's Nursing Home.
