Rev. Samuel Lee Dean, age 81, of Hillsboro,WV, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at his daughter's residence in New Haven, WV.
He was born December 25, 1928, at Lobelia, he was the son of the late Guy E. and Edith Alderman Dean.
Samuel was a minister and retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways.
He was an avid coon and bear hunter and a member of the NRA. He was of the Methodist faith, which he preached and was a christian teacher at the early age of 23.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harlen Dean; and three sisters, Gladys Boyce, Opal Walton and Verlie Christian.
He is survived by his wife; Ruth Maggie Hall Dean; three daughters, Dreama Schneider of New Martinsville, WV. Paula Dilley of Parkersburg, WV. and Lynn Atkinson of New Haven, WV. One son, Michael Lee Dean of Huttonsville, WV. Two sisters; Naomi Morrison of White Hall, MD. and Lena McClinic of Richwood, WV.
Samuel had nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service was November 8 at VanReenen Funeral Home, in Marlinton. Pastor Larry Carr and Rick Barkley, officiating. Interment was in Ruckman Cemetery in Millpoint.
