GILMER - Services for Ardine Black Sr., 78, of Diana, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008, at St. Paul Baptist Church in Ore City, with Pastor Johnny Q. Brown officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery of Ore City. Arrangements are by Turner Bros. Mortuary. Mr. Black died January 26, 2008, at his residence.

Born July 11, 1929, in Ore City, he was a lifelong Upshur County resident, Lone Star Steel retiree and member of Masonic Lodge No. 286. Survivors include his sons, Bennie D. Black, Curtis L. Black, Ardine Black Jr., Cedric L. Black and Deron Black; daughters, Paulette Turner, Mary J. Rabb, Alma Wells and Hulene Black; brother, Emmett Black; and sisters, Margaret Schaffer and Margie Thorton.
