Not sure what section this lady is in. Her monument was added on page 159 under the listing of additional monuments found by John and LeMerle Cochran in 1960's when they read the cemetery stones. This is in the Book Greene County Missouri Cemeteries, Vol IX.
ARMSTRONG Mary W. W/o F. C. Armstrong died - 22 Aug 1872 ae 29 yr

Cemetery office records say the cemetery was not even incorporated until 1888. How a monument was in the cemetery to even be discovered at that time will be a mystery. I can say that in my searching and checking for those almost lost monuments. I have found these things to happen. Monuments are lost by breaking, and maint. has placed them in a storage room perhaps waiting for family to claim and want repaired. I have heard of someone taking monuments from cemeteries and putting them in another because the cemetery they took them from is being destroyed or called defunct. Vandals also a reason. People have reported finding stones, in their yard, dug up for reasons of something as simple as bury a new tree. Whatever the reason that her stone was found in 1960 and read, then now appears lost again I cannot say. But the cemetery office has no record of her. The only Armstrong they have in the records is Nancy Armstrong.
Perhaps she was moved from a resting place to the cemetery. This cemetery has had several fires that has destroyed records. The worst fire they had that destroyed records was in 1960 think it was. They have created new lists by walking the cemetery and reading monuments. But as we all know cemeteries have bodies buried and not any monuments. Same with this one. They also had family members that helped them re-create some records.

Now comes this edit below with a different death date based on the book mentioned. I have allowed the edit but please keep in mind all mediums make mistakes. Books, monuments, legal documents, the book I used, the book this edit was used, all can and do contain errors. This is not the first edit I have had for this memorial I used math for the birth date when created as it showed she was 29 years old. Then comes a birthday edit.
Suggested edit: Based on the Book: Genealogy of the Descendants of John Walker of Wigton, Scotland et al, by Emma Siggins White the date of birth of Maria Polk Walker was 19 Jan 1813 at Columbia, TN; date of death was 26 Aug 1879 at Springfield, MO; date of marriage to Frank C Armstrong was 27 Apr 1863 at Columbia, TN. She had two children: (1) Belle Armstrong, born 29 Feb 1864 and (2) Knox Walker Armstrong, born 1865 at New Orleans, LA; died Mar 1867 at Memphis, TN
