Suzanne (Proulx) Durfee, of Bluffton, formerly of Brockton, Mass., Stoughton, Mass., and Amesbury, Mass., passed away June 14, 2011, at the age of 65. She was the beloved wife of 47 years to Paul W. Durfee; loving mother of Donna C. Durfee of Port Orange, Fla., Peter J. Durfee and his wife Victoria C. of Raynham, Mass., and Stephen P. Durfee and his wife Christen A. of Lakeville, Mass.; daughter of the late Paul E. and Marie A. (Ducharme) Proulx; devoted sister of James P. Proulx of Whitman, Mass.; dear Mimi of Katelyn E. (Breckner) Annis, Kristina K. Breckner, Petty Officer David Brian Breckner, U.S. Navy, Amanda E. Gillis, Andrew P. Durfee and Daniel S. Durfee. Also survived by her two great-grandsons, Caiden P. and Liam B. Annis. Born in Amesbury, she grew up in Stoughton and Easton, Mass., and was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School, Easton. She was a graduate of Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School in 1964 and Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical School, where she received her L.P. N. certificate in 1982. After finishing nursing school, she went to work at Brockton Hospital, Brockton, as a nurse from 1980-1992. After leaving the hospital, she went to work for Dr. Robert Baylor, a dermatologist in Brockton, for about 10 years before retiring. She will be fondly remembered for her love of life, her devotion to her husband and family. She also enjoyed traveling and the beach. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 69 South Franklin St. (Rte. 37), Holbrook, Mass., until 9 a.m. Saturday, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in St. Michael Cemetery, Avon, Mass.
