`He married Mary Ellen Cheney, January 1, 1900. Dr. H. Clarkson Attwater was rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, Wichita, Kansas from 1921 until his death in 1944.

The Reverend and Mrs. Clarkson Attwater, St. John's Episcopal Rectory. Before her marriage, Mrs. Attwater was Miss Mary Cheney of Blue Rapids. She attended Bethany College and is a member of the Twentieth Century Club. She is diocesan president of the Woman's Auxiliary of the Episcopal Church. The Reverend Mr. Attwater attended Kansas University and is a Beta Theta Pi. He also attended the Seabury Divinity School. Julia, their daughter, is a sophomore at Kansas University; Paul, a high school senior; William a sophomore in high school, and Jane is in the fifth grade.
