Veteran Journalist. Gus joined The Washington Times from at or near its beginning and spent more than 25 years there. He held Congressional Press credentials and worked many years as an editor. Gus specialized in Foreign News, specifically coverage of Africa and the Far East and retired in 2008. At the Times he was known among his colleagues for his encyclopedic knowledge of world history and his devotion to his work and his family.

Gus was the son of Diamantis Dimitri Constantinos Constantine (Gus Sr.) and his wife Elpinikie "Elena" Stellakis Constantine. Gus arrived with his family at age 4 months on the SS Edison from Piraeus to New York in June of 1929. He grew up in Manhattan, living on East 33rd Street.

Gus joined the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Gus studied history at Columbia University and became a journalist with The New York Daily News in the 1950s. By the 1970s we was reporting for The Washington Daily News and later joined The Washington Star until its closing.

He is survived by his wife and their three children and many grandchildren.
