Police Officer Frank A. Sankey. Police Officer Sankey of 510 North Vodges Street was shot on the highway near the corner of 56th (or 57th) and Vine Streets while attempting to arrest a man for causing a disturbance. He had ordered a male and female away. The suspect resisted arrest, drew a revolver, and shot Policeman Sankey in the stomach. The suspect fled to his rooftop where he was apprehended.
