Mrs. Lanah Callantine died at her ranch home near Maudlow July 12, 1945 after a lingering illness. She had lived in this valley for fifty-three years.

She was born February 4, 1869, the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Jacob Kamp, in Marion County, Iowa. In 1886 she married Frank Callantine, and to this union were born seven children. In the fall of 1892 the family moved to Montana to a homestead north of Menard. In 1908, Mr. Callantine passed away, and Mrs. Callantine continued to live on the ranch for several years.

In 1911 she married Nathan Callantine, and they resided in Bozeman until his death in 1934. She is survived by a brother, Dave Kamp, Idaho, three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Reed, Bozeman; Mrs. Agnes Walker, Huntley; Mrs. Rhoda Fely, Billings; and six children, Oran, Bozeman; Harley, Manhattan; Oscar, Maudlow; Lester, Aberdeen, Wash.; Lola A. Rose, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Harry (Effie) Dewall, Bozeman. A son, Ellis, preceeded her in death in 1936. A son of her second marriage lives in Oxnard, Calif., and he is Wallace Callantine. There are twenty-two grandchildren, three of whom are in the service. They are Sgt. Francis Callantine, Fort Ord, Calif.; Pfc. Wayne Callantine, New Guinea; 1st Lt. Ellis J. Callantine, Germany; and a cadet nurse, Ursula Callantine, Rochester, Minn. Thirteen great grandchildren also are living.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Dokken Chapel. Interment will be in the Morgan Cemetery.
