Funeral services for Lydia Christensen of Pony, who passed away in the Billings Deaconess Hospital, December 24,
1979 will be held Friday December 28th. The services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel in
Bozeman, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs Christensen was born at Maudlow, Montana, April 29, 1914, the daughter of Noah and Lydia Bennett. She
received her schooling in the Maudlow area. She lived and worked in Tillamook, Oregon from 1858 to 1965, when she
returned to Gallitin County and was employed at the Gallatin County Rest Home in Bozeman until 1976, when she
retired. She then moved to Pony, where she was a member of the Hollowtop Senior Citizens Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Darrow (Mary) Hippert of Whitehall; five sons, Ronald Green, Bill Christensen and
Jay Christensen, all of Bozeman, and Russell Green and Richard Green, both of Pony; eight sisters, Mrs Esther
Bariether of Beaverton, Oregon, Mrs Robert (Sarah) Hopkins of Idaho, Mrs Homer (Lillie) Thompson, Mrs Oscar
(Evaline) Callantine, Mrs Martha McGuire and Mrs Emma Stevens of Bozeman, Mrs Jim (Betty) Conner of Three
Forks, Mrs Jeff (Susie) Dorsey of Gallatin Gateway, three brothers, Oswald and Arglye Bennett of Bozeman and
Theodore Bennett Bennett of Helena; 20 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; great aunt, Rose Thompson of Belgrade, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Wilfred and her parents.
