Compton - Rutledge Line

My Grandma - came to Canada in 1915 with her family from Yorkshire, England.

Sadly, she lost 2 of her brothers in WWI -- Charles D. Compton and Harold Compton. Her other brother, Percy Compton survived and came home to the family.

She met and married my Grandfather, Gordon Elliott Rutledge and had 2 children before coming across Canada to settle in Burnaby, BC. Here she had 2 more children, including my Dad and my Uncle Doug.

I think I learned to love tea and Coronation Street from her.

The baby in the picture is me - I was about 10 days old at the time.
