Army Staff Sgt. Loyd was assigned to the 1175th Transportation Company, Army National Guard, Brownsville, Tennessee. Loyd was on a mission when he experienced severe chest pains. He was sent to a Kuwait hospital where he was pronounced dead from a heart attack. David was living in western Tennessee when he was called up in February for deployment overseas. When it came time for his return to Kuwait, he was eager to get back to serving his country. David returned home for 10 days this spring because his home in Jackson, Tennessee was damaged by a tornado. He enjoyed working as a truck mechanic and spent his spare time riding his Harley Davidson and tinkering with cars. David is survived by his wife Pamela and two sons.
