Spc. Chancellor A. Keesling, 25, of Indianapolis; assigned to the 961st Engineer Company, Sharonville, Ohio; died June 19 in Baghdad of a non-combat-related incident. Until the age of twelve he lived in Jamaica, where he attended Paradise Preparatory School. His family relocated to Indianapolis in 1996 to start their new business. He attended Fall Creek Valley Middle School and graduated from Lawrence North H.S., Class of 2003. Chancellor enlisted in the Army in 2003, and served his first tour of duty in Iraq as a combat engineer assigned to a company out of Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. After completing his enlistment in 2006 as a Reserve Army Specialist, Chancellor was assigned to the 961st Engineering Company based out of Sharonville, Ohio. He was re-deployed to Iraq with this unit on May 27, 2009. Chancellor will be profoundly missed and is survived by his loving parents, Gregg and Jannett Keesling; brother, O'Neil; sister, Tiana; grandparents, Gary and Gwen Keesling and Terrence and Barbara Fowle; niece, Amaya; nephew, Sylus; loving uncles and aunts; as well as many cousins and countless friends in Jamaica, America and from all over the world.
