Literary Figure. Along with his sister Maureen, he was made famous as the human stars of Marguerite Henry's book "Misty of Chincoteague", which was based largely on their experiences. He was killed at the age of 21 in April 1957 in an automobile accident. He is buried near his grandparents in Greenwood Cemetery on Bunting Road, Chincoteague, Virginia.
