Mary Jane Oreskovich, born in Pueblo on Sept. 14, 1933, passed away July 1, 2010. Her parents, Amelia Zigich Pruss and Mike Oreskovich, preceded her in death. She is survived by an uncle, Don Perko; and special friends, June and Jim Billings. Mary Jane graduated from Central High School in 1951, attained an associate's degree in Music from Pueblo Junior College in 1953, and attended Southern Colorado State College. She was an amazing pianist who knew her musical talent was a blessing from God. She loved people and used her musical gift to bring tremendous joy to everyone who was fortunate to hear her play everything from classical pieces to the old familiar tunes. For more than 20 years, she played the piano for Furr's Cafeteria, the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center and the weekly Rotary No. 43 meetings. She also entertained at various nursing homes throughout Pueblo, and played professionally for the Pueblo Ballet, the Pueblo Symphony and several well-known musicians throughout Colorado. She always was cheerful, thoughtful, humorous and kind to everyone. Mary Jane will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A special thanks to the staff of the Pavilion and Sangre de Cristo Hospice for taking such good care of her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite musical nonprofit in memory of Mary Jane. Funeral service, 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010, held at Roselawn Funeral Home.
